Olugbenga Obadina

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Metropolitan Electric

Olugbenga Obadina is the visionary Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Metropolitan Electric Limited, Africa's most dynamic end-to-end electric mobility platform. With a career that seamlessly blends cutting-edge technology, strategic leadership, and a deep commitment to sustainable development, he stands at the forefront of Africa's green industrial transformation.

A Computer Science graduate (Second Class Upper Division) from the University of Nigeria, he further refined his leadership capabilities at some of the world's most prestigious institutions. He is an alumnus of the London Business School, where he also completed executive programs in Private Equity, Managing Major Projects, and more. His continuous pursuit of excellence also led him to INSEAD Paris (Managing Yourself, Managing People) and MIT's Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (IDSS), where he completed the Data Science and Machine Learning program.

His entrepreneurial journey began as a Founding Executive Director of Technology and Business Development at Suburban Group, where he was instrumental in shaping one of Nigeria's pioneering ICT infrastructure companies. He later served as CEO of Suburban International (UK), expanding the group's footprint into Europe and leading strategic partnerships across borders.

Currently, in addition to leading Metropolitan Electric, he is Founder and Board Member of Sunphos Africa Limited, Xanadu Digital Solutions Limited, and Cowrie Green Energy Limited — organizations at the convergence of clean energy, digital innovation, and sustainable logistics. He also serves as Director and Co-Owner of Enertek Anlagenbau GmbH, an advanced engineering firm headquartered in Rostock, Germany.

As a systems thinker with deep commercial acumen, he brings a unique blend of technical fluency, executive management, and pan-African vision. He is building Metropolitan Electric not just as a company, but as an ecosystem — one that integrates assembly, charging infrastructure, fleet management, EV SaaS, and mobility services to drive scalable, inclusive and sustainable electrification across the continent.
